COST:

$31 Million

COMPLETED:

January 2024

This project for the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District and City of San Ramon remodels approximately 70,000 square feet of existing buildings and includes the addition of a new 9,000 square foot emergency operations and 911 Communications Center. The initial phase of the project included a detailed space needs and facility assessment for Fire Administration, Police and Emergency Communications. The goal of the project was to re-purpose an existing building to serve as the fire administration facility, renovate the existing police facility, and construct a new joint Emergency Operations Center and Communications Center. Upon completion of the assessments, the team developed detailed construction documents for the improvements.

The Permit Services building (30,000 sf; two-stories) was upgraded and converted to support the Fire Department Administrative Services to support executive staff, Training Division, EMS and Fire Prevention.  Additionally, a fully functional Board Room was created to serve as the hub for the District.  The Police Department building (40,000 sf; two stories) was completely remodeled and structurally upgraded and included the addition of a new 1,300 sf fitness center at Level One. Existing administrative functions were relocated and include office space, meeting rooms, and public lobbies and restrooms for available services.

The new Emergency Operations Center was developed to serve both the District and the City as a State of the Art EOC, with associated offices, breakout rooms, and technology to support the various conditions that might be encountered.  The second floor 911 Emergency Communications Center (PSAP) provides space for 8 dispatchers, a supervisors office, bunk rooms, breakroom and a server room to support the 20+ racks of computer/radio equipment needed to support the call center. Services included condition assessment and evaluation report, development planning, cost estimates and schedules, programming, schematic design, design development, construction documents, bid assistance, and construction administration.
