This project was evaluated and designed by COAR Design Group (formerly JKA) in collaboration with WTI. The scope included a facility evaluation to ensure current code compliance, energy efficiency, site security, and facility wide safety features. This 20,000 square foot site includes a community center, lap pool, locker and shower building, equipment room, pool deck and playground.
After the evaluation period it was determined to include:
Replacement of the pool deck and drainage to a more durable, non-slip, and easily maintained system.
New pool filtration and heating equipment, piping and expanded equipment room to meet current codes and provide the necessary space for expansion
Feasibility study of solar heating system and grant information for Savings by Design and other avenues.
LED site lighting and analysis of existing site security including perimeter fencing.
Modified skimmer locations and supply lines for better use of pool during swim instruction and aquatic exercise programs.
Restroom and shower upgrades to current codes and materials to provide a safer facility for users.
ADA pool upgrades as required by code.
Site upgrades including shade, lifeguard locations, signage, and finishes.
COAR Design Group facilitated the bidding and construction of this facility as well as assisting the city with as-builts and long-term maintenance strategies to ensure long term durability and efficiency as well as increased income opportunities and additional programming.
