PROJECT:
43,000 sqft
COST:
$8.5 Million
COMPLETED:
June 2013
SeaWorld purchased this 32-acre park with the ambitious goal of transforming the park in one 5 month off-season. The park was transformed from an outdated 1950’s surfing community theme in need of significant rehabilitation into a lush and bright south-seas inspired attraction complete with 43,000 square feet of sandy beaches, animal experiences, private cabanas, and a new culinary menu. Every attraction was inspected, refurbished, repainted and re-themed.
Thousands of trees and shrubs were planted of all types and species to add shade, color, and an immersive feeling. Animal attractions were added including Caribbean flamingos that sit between the re-designed entrance and the moving waters of the lazy river ‘Loggerhead Lane’ to give truly unique water park experience. Also, life safety analysis was performed identifying any structural deficiencies in the park as well as an ADA survey to remove any accessibility barriers.
